Clairemont Charm

Book Pairing: Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Ingredients
1 ½ ounces Bourbon
3 ounces spiced black tea
½ ounce of honey simple syrup
Splash of lemon juice
How to Make It
Step one: Brew spiced tea and let sit to cool
Step two: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice
Step three: Stir ingredients, strain, and serve 

​I am not a dark liquor person and don’t really like bourbon, but this drink was actually very refreshing. A friend who helped me created this helped me to combine the use of tea to represent Henry’s English roots and the bourbon in homage to Alex who drank it throughout the novel that was paired with it.
