I'm so excited about this list. These are all some of my favorite romance novels that I have read throughout the years. This list is pretty evenly split between standalone and novels that are in a series. Many of these I have also read more than once and I always get a warm feeling. There's also a variety of genres whether these romances are fantasy or realistic fiction. Make sure to take a peak at these before Valentine's Day to either get you in the mood or get you through it!

1. Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
This one made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Not only is it a beautiful story of acceptance and love for an LGBTQ relationship it also has a lot of strong and whole characters. The main couple is definitely swoon worthy with their secretive love and international trists.

2. A Court of Thorns and Roses (specifically A Court of Mist and Fury) by Sarah J. Maas
You have to make it past the first one in order to get to the second one where the romance is so swoon worthy it is a book I read and reread and reread. The romance is so focused on independence within the relationship and if that isn’t swoon worthy I don’t know what is. Also on a spice level with this one is amazing and the world building and the character development. Just read it then come talk to me.

3. Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
So this one is hard because you have to read the paired series Vampire Academy before reading this series, but trust me when I say they are both incredible. After reading about Rose and Dimitri, reading Sydney and Adrian’s adventures is the cherry on top. Also another forbidden romance, but one with all the right reasons to love what’s wrong.

4. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
I think we all wish we had a Peter Kavinski in our lives while we were in high school and I mean that with my whole being. However, Laura Jean gets the romance of a lifetime when her love letters are accidentally sent to her crushes. It may be a high school romance, but we all can pretend we had a great love and high school now and then can’t we?

5. Legend by Maire Lu
Normalize dual perspective novels! This dual perspective trilogy is amazing with its intense action and dystopian world building. Yet another forbidden romance following the nation’s most revered soldier and it’s most wanted criminal. There is something different about hearing from both parties in the relationship for the entirety of it not just when you want to kill one character (*cough cough* Divergent).

6. The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
This book is steamy. That is the preface you have been warned. However, this book is also so tender and touching I find that I simply cannot help but love it. Stella Lane is so incredibly smart and loves her work as an econometrician, but she is also very clearly aware of how her autism affects her life. However, Hoang does a magnificent job of ensuring that Stella’s autism is not the defining characteristic of her essence and that her disability is not seen as a disability, but more a facet of who she truly is. I find it magnificent and I also love the addition of Michael, the escort, who Stella hires in order to help teach her how to be a better lover. P.s. if you envision Henry Golding from Crazy Rich Asians as Michael it’s magnificent.

7. Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern
I loved the movie and the book was great too. Something about a right place, wrong time romance just gets me. This book is also unique in the way that it is told through email, IM and text message which is really unique. There’s also a great movie with the loves of my life Lily Collins and Sam Claflin.
